Matthew Harrison


Matthew’s experience includes representation of both plaintiffs and defendants in all phases of litigation. In 2014, he was co-counsel on a trial team that succeeded in obtaining a $36.8 million dollar judgment on behalf of their clients against defendant ING North America Insurance Corporation.  In 2015, Matthew started his own firm, Bloom Charter Law Association, where he continues work with a variety of clients in a broad spectrum of legal matters, including business law dealings (such as business entity formation/reorganization/dissolution), contracts and transactional matters, litigation, alternative dispute resolution proceedings (such as mediation and arbitration), real estate affairs, educational law, intellectual property law (trademarks, patents, and copyrights), as well as other related areas.  



Matthew graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Pomona College in 2001.  During college he traveled to China and also studied abroad in Taiwan, learning Mandarin.  Upon graduation, he was awarded a Freeman Fellowship to Asia and spent the following year traveling throughout mainland China, Taiwan, and Japan.  After returning to the U.S., he earned his teaching credential and spent four years as a high school teacher working in programs for at-risk youth.  


     

In 2006, Matthew decided to pursue a career in law, attending UC Hastings College of the Law (now UC Law San Francisco).  While in law school, he spent a summer abroad in Suzhou, China, studying international business law.  He graduated from UC Hastings in 2009 and he was admitted as a member of the State Bar of California that same year.  Since then, he has worked at multiple firms and practiced in a variety of different legal areas.  During his 15 years of practice, Matthew has gained vast experience working with diverse clientele that includes established businesses, start-up companies, individual entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations, as well as educational institutions, assisting them in all aspects of their business law matters and related legal transactions.
